Netflix Must See: Into The Wild

IntoTheWild

Into The Wild is based on a true story about a young man named Christopher McCandless who leaves everything behind to find himself in nature. He wanted to get away from the typical life that most of us live. A job that we hate, worries about money, debt and just "stuff" in general. The story is very inspiring and makes you think. Chris hitch hikes his way across the country until he reaches Alaska. It was his dream to live in the wild in complete solitude. Truly become one with nature.

The last few years of my life I have realized how important it is to get outside and be close to nature. Sometimes my feelings about nature are hard to put into words. I felt like I could really relate to a lot of things that Chris did. I understood why he chose to live in the wild. How he was able to learn so much about himself by "getting away". This movie really shows the importance of nature in a persons life.

He learned a lot about himself and life in general. He became the person he was truly meant to be.
Watch the trailer below to get a really good look at the film. I really loved it!

  1. Even though I chatted with you in email I thought I'd comment here and say again that I too loved this movie and the story. I recently came across another lovely story that makes me think of Into the Wild. It's about a man who quit money. Daniel Suelo quit money and hasn't used money in 12 years, at least not directly. He mostly lives in a cave. One of my favorite websites, Becoming Minimalist shared his story here. Though I plan to read the book about Daniel's story too. I love people who break the status quo, think outside the box and show just how much you can learn if you let go, be free and let the wind take you.

    1. I just checked out the Becoming Minimalist website. I have saved the link to his page. Thanks for sharing. :) When we move again, I will probably need to become a minimalist. hahaha

  2. I LOVE this movie! Really. I've only watched it once a couple of years ago because I feel like it's such a treasure. I'm saving it up for a time where I feel uninspired and need a pick me up. Also the only movie where you can't hate kristen stewart haha.

    1. hahaha So many people hate Kristen Stewart. I liked her until she cheated on Rob. I think her acting is "okay". It's hard to take her serious. The movie is very inspiring and uplifting. I'm glad that you have seen it.
