Alpacas in Ohio

Alphacas in Ohio

It's so hard for me to believe it has been a month since I visited Ohio and took these photos. This adorable group of Alpacas live near my parents house. I always look forward to seeing them and snapping some photos. The faces they make really crack me up. Some of them are really cute and other have some really crazy eyes!

They are very unsure about my camera. They are just wondering where the carrots are??

This brown guy was my favorite. He actually put his ears down the way a dog would when I was talking to him. I'm sure he was just scared of my camera. I tried to pet him but he wouldn't let me. Again, they just want carrots.

When will you see me with the biggest smile on my face? When I am surrounded by animals.

I hope to visit the farm sanctuary in Colorado again this year!
Also on my list of places to visit is The Wildlife Sanctuary located in Keenesburg, Colorado.
View my post about when I visited the Peaceful Prairie Farm Sanctuary HERE.
If you haven't ever visited a sanctuary I urge you to! It's a great experience!!!

  1. Alpacas are fun! I petted one in Budapest but his buddy the llama always spitted on me :') By the way, I was so surprised when I came onto your blog just now haha, love the new look! Super fresh :) xo

    1. Thanks Dorien. I needed a more simple look and feel for the blog. :) I've heard of them spitting but I have seen it happen yet. The Alpacas seems to get jealous over treats and food. That's when they start spitting. I was a bit nervous it was going to happen. hahaha GROSS!

  4. I like the new look of your blog too! I think these alpacas are so dang cute. It reminded me of a news article I read recently where they are using alpacas and llamas as therapy for the elderly. Kinda cute.

    2. Thanks Kim. Animals really do provide love and happiness to people. It's amazing really. I don't know what I would do without my fur babies.

  5. Beautiful, beautiful and I especially love, and how you pointed out, to see how happy you are around them. Like you, I feel like I radiate joy when around animals. Visiting a sanctuary is definitely on our list and is long overdue. The biggest one we want to visit is Farm Sanctuary because one is in the state I was raised in (New York) and the other in beautiful California. That and they have some classes we'd like to take. Though there are a few smaller ones around here that we want to visit. I've wanted to go to Black Beauty Ranch (which is a bit bigger and is mostly wild animals) ever since Colleen Patrick-Goudreau shared her experience there. Thanks for bringing light to a beautiful species. Alpacas are so beautiful.
