One of my friends sent me the link to this video the other day. I laughed so hard I cried. She knew I was having a bad day and she said, "You can't be sad when you listen to the thrift store song." She was so right. I don't watch TV or listen to the radio, so I have no idea how popular this is or how long it's been around. It's new too me and I felt it was worth sharing....

I love Violet's DIY Valentine Day post. She shows you how to make a pretty garland and glittered jars! Yes please. I want to make these jars to hold my pens and pencils in my office.

This place is on my vacation list. It's an image taken at the Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National park, UTAH. Isn't it just beautiful? I just want to runaway to this place in live at that exact spot! This is a perfect example of why I love our planet. :)

A Few of My Favorite Things #1

It's no secret of what kind of week I've been having. (unless you haven't read the post below this one yet.) I wanted to put a collection of things together that I found lovely and inspiring. I needed some uplifting this week and found these things below did that! A few things from around the web that made me smile....

Rip Esselstyn is a very inspiration speaker. He inspired me to try a plant based diet and a year later I'm still doing it. Such strong words in the video and very educational.



This post really made me smile. Jen writes about how she ends up in Forks, Washington by chance. She gets to visit the "twilight" town and is kindly welcomed by the towns sheriff. She hiked in Olympic National Park and shares some of her beautiful pictures. I think the area is beautiful and I hope to visit it someday. Read her post HERE.

Things That Make Me Smile

My mom sent me a link to this video a few months back. I have been wanting to share it on the blog for a long time. I can't watch it without crying. It's a video of dogs that were test animals their entire life. They had never set foot on grass before. Some of them even have trouble walking. After I watched this I stopped used products that were tested on animals. It's a very heartwarming video so get some tissues ready...

Over on Lazarus Bell, she posted a great post about being vegan. Kinda goes hand in hand with the video above. When you are vegan you have to make the choices of what to give up. (not just food) I felt her post had a lot of good information.

I also really enjoyed reading a post over on Antiquarian Miss about Pigs and how smart they are.

Hello weekend! I'm so glad that you are here. This weekend we are going to check out a few thrift stores, go look at our house again, clean, pack and drink lots of coffee I am sure. I wish I could ride my bike, but Cody is on call for work so we can't be out far away on the trail. I found this amazing quote on Pinterest last night and really wanted to share it with you...

Recently I have stumbled across some things online that I felt were worth sharing with you.

Chris & Julia Adopt A Shelter Dog 
I read a heart warming story over on A Living Space written by Chris, telling his story about adopting a shelter dog. Not only did he decide to adopt a rescue dog, Chris drove 24 hours to get him! That is DEVOTION. Here is Chris playing with his new puppy Odo...

This story meant a lot to me since I just recently worked at an animal shelter. Also Chris drove to Ohio to adopt his new puppy, which is where I am originally from.
