*Nursery Design Boards*

No, I am not having a baby! My husband and I are talking about it. We have to get some more work done on our house before we have a baby. I have just been playing with my Photo Shop making design boards. I really want a baby girl.

I have started to collect Alice in Wonderland items. I thought using them as my inspiration to decorate a nursery would be fun. I would love to paint some murals of Alice on the walls! I would love to collect some vintage teapots, cups, and saucers to decorate with also. I have tons of ideas, but no baby. lol Designing and Dreaming is still so much fun!!!

*April 09* (working outside finally!)

Yeah for sunshine!!!!! I have been able to work outside alot this month. It's been a great feeling. I have been happier this month due to the nicer weather. We have had a few cold days here in OHIO. One day it was 70 degrees, then the next 30 degrees!

I think I have visited all my local landscaping stores like 10 times already! I have my whole landscaping design planned out. Last month when I wrote I wasn't sure what I was going to do.

The fun has started in the yard! I have planted all around our pool in the backyard. I actually wanted to do that last year, but the weeds got over grown and I lost motivation.

Everything I planted is "little" right now. I am sure by the end of summer it will all grow much larger. :) My husband and I decided on red mulch. I am very happy with it. (By the way, lifting 10 bags of mulch hurts the next day. lol)

I also worked on my "white gravel" flowerbed. Here is what it looked like last summer.

Here is what it looks like now. I am going to sit flowerpots in the flowerbed.

I love purple flowers!

My husband and his dad have been working on cutting trees down in our yard.

I was a bit nervous watching this happen, since the tree was close to the house.

I hated to see this tree go, but it was dead and ugly. We will replant a new tree in the same spot. :)

My husband and I did some landscaping in front of our garage. We first had to clean out the white gravel, dig extra dirt out, and move the plants that were in the flower bed.

We worked from 8:00am ~ 8:00pm on the front yard. We did stop for lunch though. We made a trip to Home Depot to buy 12 bags of red mulch and this cute pom-pom tree.

Here is everything replanted in a nice straight line.

Here is a shot with everything planted and red mulch!

We live in one of those neighborhoods where everyone's yard looks perfect,...except ours. lol We are trying to pick up the pace and have a great looking yard this year finally! Oh, and lets not forget, freshly painted trim! I have lots of painting to do. I am trying to pick out some house numbers also. We are having trouble deciding. These are my favorite...

They are priced at $18.00 each from Chiasso.com! I am scared on the white siding they will blend in to much. I love them so much though!!! We could always make a painted plaque for them, so they would stand out. Anyways, back to tree work...

Again, cute little muffins watching from the window. :) The tree in front of the fireplace is now gone.

Luckly we still have a house. My husband proved me wrong, I was so nervous about not hiring someone to do it. They did a good job though. Now the real landscaping will start soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

March 09 (almost spring)

I saw this purse and had to buy it! I love the vintage picture printed on it. The quote on the purse is the story of my life.....

(I haven't decided if I am going to keep the purse or sell it.)

My main focus in March has been working on redoing my Pink Booth where I work. Here is what it looks like currently.....

The other focus is getting ideas together for the front yard landscaping! If you haven't seen my house in awhile, its now white instead of RED.

The tree in front of the fireplace is being cut down. It blocks the house to much and is hurting the roof.

I hate to cut it down, but its to big for where they planted it!! :(

I have actually asked someone I know to help me design all the landscaping. He is very good, and I am so not. I can do interior design, but not so good at landscaping!! lol Here is the house when we bought it....

I do miss the red house, but the white looks very nice. Here is a few images that are inspiring me! (To see more photos of the house in RED, click here!)

Of course, living in OHIO means no palm trees! :( My husband won't allow plastic pink flamingos either. I am also pretty sad about that.

First, before flamingos and pretty purple flowers, I plan to paint the window trim on the front of the house. I am open to any suggestions or ideas anyone may have for my landscaping. Red mulch, good idea or bad idea?

Thanks, happy spring!

*Creating Marilyn *

(one of my many projects for March 09)

I have been working on signs and photos for my booth! My pink booth is getting a complete makeover!!!

I really want to make my booth feel more "personal", like a little shop. Very little shop considering my booth is only 40 square feet!

I can't have my own store, but I can just keep making my booth better. I had two booths, but I have decided to downsize to just my pink booth. I want to be able to spend all my time on it! With spring coming I also will have less time to work on my booth! I have alot of work to do outside this year! (those who follow my blog have seen the photos! yikes!)

I thought cute little signs framed sitting in the booth here and there would be a cute added touch! I sell purses new and old, Marilyn Monroe photos, glassware, decorative items, and anything that is cute. Here is a old photo of my booth taken sometime last year....

I have sold most everything in this photo. The pretty white desk & hutch is gone. It always looked so pretty in my booth, but I sold it. (money is good!) Now I just have to find time to do all this,...HA!

Feb 09' (is it spring yet?)

I hate the winter, and I hate snow even more.

My husband and I haven't done anything around our house all winter. We are just so sick of doing "projects"! I am going to redecorate our guest bedroom. Even though I really like it the way it is. My husband doesn't care much for the butterfly theme. I can't say I blame him. The new theme will be love & guns. Here is my inspiration board ~

.....I know not everyone will like this "theme", but hey, I love the Andy Warhol guns prints. This is a great way for me to get all these random pieces that I love, that I have no other place in the house to put them. My husband will enjoy this much better than butterflies. lol

We have been spending the winter months trying to think up ideas for our hall bathroom also. It is also going to be black and white.

All I know is I can't wait to destroy the ugly green tile walls. Yuck!!! We plan to do white subway tile and black painted walls. As much as I love COLOR, sometimes I think its best to keep some rooms simple. Someday we will finish our basement, so I will have all that to decorate also. (more color) I know I keep promising photos of my master bedroom. It still needs finishing touches, so I am delaying photos as long as possible. lol

I have been working on my photo collage in my office!

Only problem is,....I am out of magazines. :(

I took the closet doors off and put a vintage desk in the space. Instead of painting the closet pink like the rest of the room, I decided to collage it.

Here's Chloe! She is 6 months old now, and her ears are picking up radio stations. lol

Here is the worse thing that happened in this month. My custom framed Monroe print fell off my dresser..... I cried.

On a brighter side though, I finally got an IPOD and I LOVE IT!!!!!

I have already painted the green bedroom white for the new decor!! (guns and love theme)

This month I also went to my favorite antique mall in Indianapolis, Midland Arts and Antiques Market! Which is where I found this....

Which I wanted for the new guns and love bedroom! I was so excited! Its hanging in the kitchen though,.....and I like it in the kitchen, so it may stay there instead. ;)

I have lots of projects planned for March and the spring! So, hopefully I can keep motivated! As always thanks for stopping by my blog!

January 09'

WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING FOR A YEAR!!!!

I was reading through my own blog last night and realized how into blogging I used to be. I miss it! :( I can't believe the way my house used to look, and all the hard work we have done. Just looking back at the pictures make me tired!!! (link)

Now with my husband and I both working full time, house projects got pushed to the back burner. We have lost motivation. :( We look at projects that still need done and think, "Gosh, why can't the house just finish itself!!!" lol

Our red house, is now a white house...

This was a hard decision for me. I was so attached to the red, but I was not attached to the idea of scrapping and repainting the house. We spent all summer putting new white vinyl siding on the house. We have all the front of the house done and the back where our patio is, I just don't have any pictures yet.

The gross hot tub is gone. It actually had a dead animal under it when we moved it!!! Once the hot tub was gone, I bought us a cute patio set. Some day we hope to paint the concrete, and a rug would be nice.

My favorite thing about spring time is going plant & flower shopping with my mom.

No, I didn't buy this awesome plant, but I would like to! My husband and I love this tree. I think its priced around $400,....that is why we do not owe it. Come spring I hope to buy plants to finish the front of the houses landscaping FINALLY. I have to paint all the window trim, facial board, and landscape the front. I have alot of work ahead of me. I plan to try red colored mulch instead of the white gravel I have down now. When I put the white gravel down I thought the house was going to be red. I want some kind of contrast!

Now on to the inside of the house.....

*My Hallway*

My Kylie poster has been hanging in the hallway for about 2 years! I got a new Marilyn Monroe poster to hang next to Kylie! I love the way it looks.

hallway photo collage... I had all these miscellaneous photo frames sitting around, so I tired to use them all up by making a picture wall in our hallway!

I plan to paint all the black frames white. I like white frames in the hallway because it doesn't feel so "busy" or cramped when walking down it.

Retro Clock ~ one of the million things I have bought this year! lol It came from my work.

I got this great table and chairs from my work also!

It needs alot of work! I need to recover the chairs, and maybe someday I will get a nice round rug for my dining area. I love the big red round one that is $299 at IKEA!

*MY OFFICE*

I have lots of new collections now that I work at the antique mall. Its branched out into Marilyn Monroe, Pink Teddy Bears, Vintage Flowered Items, and More Hello Kitty....

I bought this doll house basically because it was a heck of a deal, and in hope that someday I might have a little girl to play with it.

*MY LIVING ROOM*

My living room basically looks the same, just a few new pieces. I finally have a few houseplants! I haven't killed this peace lily yet!

I just thought these pictures were cute. The pets love to lay on the heat vents to keep warm.

*MY BEDROOM*
sneak peak...

I hope to be posting pictures of my bedroom soon. Its getting there....finally. :)

Here is a photo of my pink & black booth at the antique mall.

If I am not working, I am usually working on my booth or out searching for stuff to sell in my booth. (not working on my house or decorating my house) This is why nothing ever gets done anymore!! I make a little extra cash selling items. Plus, its just fun!

Thanks for stopping by!!! Hopefully it won't be another year before I post again. lol
