Happy Weekend! {Thanks 4 Your Comments!}

I'd like to thank everyone for your comments this week on my very first VLOG. If you'd missed it you can check it out HERE. Not sure what I am going to do this weekend besides daydream about decorating a house that I don't have yet. Still waiting to find out about our preapproval. I hate waiting! May hop on the bike this weekend, enjoy one last ride for the year. Think I may spend some time going through the closets and make some donations to some of the local thrift shops in town. Too soon to start packing even though I'm ready to.

So I am excited to say that I finally figured out how to change my comment form on my blog posts! All week I had been messing with it and too "blonde" to figure it out I guess! HA! What I Wore #8

This past Sunday we spent the day going to open houses hoping to find our future home. (No luck yet.) The sun was out but it was only 60 degrees. I would usually just throw on jeans and a long sleeved top but I decided to dress "cuter". The blue striped dress below I purchased last year on clearance and hadn't had a chance to wear it yet...


It was just warm enough to wear the dress and I busted out some black leggings to pair with it.
One thing I love about the cooler weather is being able to wear leggings again.
Chloe wanted to sit with me, so I let her pose for a few pictures...

There is my necklace that I got at Disney! It's supposed to be a Minnie Mouse bow.

I got my hair cut recently! It needed trimmed very badly.
I still have crazy frizz, but it looks cute I think.

I took the pictures in my guest bedroom because it was the only room with the sun shinning in!
I'm a bit washed out, but with 20 m.p.h winds outside this was the best I could do.
I miss being outside already!

Life Update: Buying A House!

Cody and I have decided to bite the bullet and buy a house. It's weird for me to even say those words because it feels surreal. It doesn't feel like it's going to actually happen. It feels like just a dream or something fun to talk about, not real. I just talked with a lender yesterday and she is starting the preapproval process for us already. She also recommended a realtor for me. I said I wanted someone honest and straight forward. I want someone to talk me out of a bad decision that we may make. Meaning, don't fall in love with a house that's falling apart or too expensive for us!!!

If all works out, this will be our third house. We are being pretty picky since we know we won't live here forever and we want it to be good for resale. We can't just think about "us" and what we love. Location is key and lots of space. I have fallen in love with probably 5 houses already and watched them sell! :( Currently I am loving older homes with character!


The photos are horrible, I know! This house is at the top of my list. It's not overly large, but it will work. The outside isn't that cute but I know I can add curb appeal with landscaping so I am kinda up for the challenge. My favorite thing is the wood floors!!!! The house was built in 1940 and the original hardwood has been refinished. Also, all new windows!


That above room is a enclosed sunroom! We are thinking we'd like this as an office/sitting area. Our pets would love this room. It's a bonus area for us and still has 3 additional bedrooms and a finished basement. I need a space for a future nursery and guests. BUT, let's get real! The REAL reason I want a house is to FREAKIN decorate. I haven't painted a room since 2010! I am having withdrawls. I love painting rooms and picking out paint colors. Drooling over paint swatches!

So now we wait. I am sure we will get to look at homes soon, but I'm not sure. The whole problem for us is from our past. We had to do a short sale on our last house causing us to not be able to get a home mortgage for 2 years. Sadly, it's looking like that date is now going to be January of 2013! Our realtor tells us not to worry about it too much and that we can still make offers. So, here goes to the beginning of the emotional roller coaster that comes with buying a home. Should be interesting. I am scared and excited at the same time. *Wish me Luck* I can't wait to start painting! Moving sucks, but the happiness I will feel to get that key is all worth it.

She's a "celebrity blogger" really and is so very talented! It's actually blows my mind how good of a designer she is. She is a born nature and her talent has taken her great places. When I see her unique designs I fall in love every time. I really wanted to share her newest design here on my blog. She had a Room Makeover Giveaway on her blog recently and here is the design the winner received....


Mandy is very inspiring to me because she uses lots of color and really makes every design with her clients personality in mind. I found Mandy's blog probably about a year ago and fell in love. She has tons of tutorials on her blog, which makes her more awesome! (She shares her secrets with you.) She proves to you that you can turn any beat up thrift store find into a treasure. She paints everything. She teaches you to let your own inner interior decorator out.

My First VLOG: Jessie in Real Life

I hope you guys enjoy my first VLOG, because honestly I find it embarrassing, awkward, weird and I was so nervous even doing it. I haven't heard my own voice in a very long time and it's so strange really. HA! I don't want to type too much because I say a lot in the VLOG. The VLOG is basically about why I blog, why I read others blog and general advise about blogging. I say "um", "so" and "overwhelming" a lot. May try less coffee next time before doing a VLOG. Also I think I come across very serious, but I think it's just the topics I was discussing. Next time I will try to be more relaxed.
