Collecting Color // Yellow & Pink

I had fun going around my house seeking out yellow and pink items to photograph. Surprisingly I don't have a lot of yellow stuff sitting around. The last photo with the Carebears has to be my favorite. They are just so darn cute! I think next month I am going to attempt to challenge myself to only take photos while out and about. The color scheme for next month is yellow and navy.

I wanted to add some brightness to my blog this month! As the warmer weather approaches and the sun shines more, I thought yellow was the perfect color to showcase in April. You almost need your sunglasses just to read this post. I've always loved yellow. ModCloth has a great selection of bright and fun yellow dresses. Yellow is not a color I wear often, but I would like to change that. I drive a yellow car and have a yellow living room. Yellow may be too bright for some people but it will always leave me smiling. :)

Inspiration: Pops Of Mustard Yellow

How do you feel about Mustard Yellow? It's one of my favorite colors! When shopping for clothes I am always drawn to it, but it doesn't look very good on me. I am dying to decorate my own home again. It's been over 2 years since I painted a room!!!! I love painting so much, it's a crime that I can't do it where I currently live. I am basically over rentals and have gotten the itch to own my own home again. Here are some images I found inspiration...

When I saw the window frames painted a shade of mustard yellow, I knew that I needed a room decorated in this color...



Cody always laughs at me because anytime we are out anywhere I will say,"Oh, that would be a pretty paint color!" I love color, decorating and painting rooms! Talk of buying a house is such a huge decision! We plan to keep thinking about it for the next few months and then make a decision. We are stuck here in Wyoming for a while and figure we would be happier with our own walls. :) I have fallen in love with a hand full of houses already and they keep selling within a month of being on the market. It may be hard for me to even find one that I love! We'll see....

Design Board - My Dining Area

If you follow my blog you know that I am having some serious decorating withdrawals. We get the keys to our new place on the 21st! I have only seen pictures of a different unit, not the actual one we are renting. That's all it took though to get my wheels turning. Currently we eat in our living room everynight! We need to buy some dining room chairs and unless I find some at a thrift shop I think I may have finally picked a set from Target. Here is a design board I put together for our new dining area....

I love this color scheme. It probably is one of my favorites! I try not to decorate so matchy matchy, but I gotta say it's what my eye is drawl to. I can't help it! It's what works for me in my home. I am currently trying to decide if I am going to paint or not. If I do I will stick to accent walls probably, so it's easier to paint back when we move out. If you love turquoise and aqua blues, go check out Mandi's kitchen table she just painted over on her blog Vintage Revivals! It's amazing!

YELLOW SIDEBOARD

Dear IKEA,
Why must you always discontinue things before I get a chance to buy it? I loved your Bright Yellow Trollsta Sideboard. I almost cried when I found out I couldn't buy it. It would work great in my current living room as a TV Stand. This makes me sad. I guess I will have to find something vintage and paint it a happy shade of yellow!
