*Picking out an Apartment*
I have found myself spending hours looking at Apartment guides, For Rent.com and reading reviews about places I am interested in renting. It so hard to choose one when you are moving from a house to a small tiny living space. I have already separated with a lot of my stuff and more of it will be donated or given away.
Cody had a good 2 days getting "processed" to join the Air Force. He swore in yesterday and when he came home had some great stories to tell me. It was exciting listening to him talk about all that he experienced in just those 2 days. I can only imagine what stories he will have from boot camp. lol Cody also informed me yesterday that he was told it could be a short as 3 months for him to leave for boot camp. Originally we were told 6 - 7 months. I have to admit my heart sunk to my stomach. I kinda went into "Oh Shit" Mode. There is so much we need to to do still. What about our house???
So, I am hunting for a place to live. I plan to just move whether our house sells in the next few months or not. Doing this is so against everything I am and believe. I can't afford my home anymore so I have to accept that this is what has to happen. A few months back I looked at an apartment right by my work. I hate long drives and traffic! I figured it would be good for me to not have to drive much everyday. The problem with the apartment is that it feels like a freakin cave. The ceilings are low and they textured the walls to match the ceiling. It makes me feel dizzy. {It is a designers nightmare} The living room is so tiny that I guess I can forget getting my Lounge Sofa!
I have spent hours making Pro's and Con's lists. I just keep telling myself I won't be living there that long. As long as I have a place for my computer and pets I will manage. One of the biggest pros of living there is it has a place for a washer and dryer. It is so hard to find an apartment in my area {that I can afford} with a washer and dryer hookup.
Here is a crappy photo of the layout of this "cave" apartment I am considering. lol It looks nice on the layout! It is a 1,000 square feet.

Also, I want to go to Disney World with Cody before he leaves! Oh, and stop in Atlanta on the way to have Melissa take our photos! How is this all going to happen? lol

Design Board - Ashley's Bedroom {Monroe & Modern}
Ashley emailed me to help her out with a few rooms in her apartment. For her bedroom Ashley wanted to focus around her Marilyn Monroe poster. She wanted the color scheme to be red, brown and white. Here is what I envision for her space....

{LINKS}
Marilyn Monroe Poster with beach towel {HERE}
LJUSÅS YSBY Lamp {HERE}
Red Lack Table {HERE}
Dwell Studio Bedding {HERE}
Square Ribba Picture Frames {HERE}
Bacati Window Curtains {HERE}
Red Vases {HERE}
Red & White wall clock {HERE}
Mirrored Picture Frame {HERE}
KNATA Boxes {HERE}
Billy Bookcase {HERE}
Silver Vase {HERE}
VÄNNA Mirror {HERE}
MALM Dresser {HERE}
Red & White Decorative Pillows {HERE}
Red Chair {HERE}
*Marilyn Monroe Poster belongs to Ashley*
I love the Ribba square frames from IKEA! They give such a clean modern look. Calendar pages/pictures fit nicely in them and make "cheap" artwork. Ashley could easily frame black and white Marilyn Monroe calendar pages or get some black & white shots of her son made for the frames. Accents of silver give the room a "glam" hollywood feel. {Most of the items on my design board are from IKEA because Ashley is near one.}
Happy Decorating Ashley!

Design Boards - My Apartment / Living Room Area
Sooner or later I will move to a new home. That means a new place to decorate! Woo-Hoo!!!! Here is a sneak peek of how I want my new place to look.
BOARD #1

I am really wanting a pink & yellow color scheme with orange here and there. {Orange Billy Bookcase} It may look like a lot of craziness but I swear it will be pretty!!! ; ) lol The look of the apartment is mainly based around the couch and the Marilyn Monroe Warhol print! I used to have the Warhol print in orange until it fell off my dresser and broke! : (
BOARD #2

The second design features the PINK couch! This couch is pink which makes it awesome and it is cheaper then the Lounge couch from the first board. Also, this design features the rug from Chiasso. I love love the yellow & white rug, but my pets would ruin it. I just thought it looked fun on the design board!
I am leaning more towards the "Lounge Sofa" from Crate and Barrel for our living room! {HERE} The lounge sofa is so comfortable and that is what my husband and I want. The lounge sofa also looks more "modern" to me.
Look how deep the lounge sofa is! I am only 4' 9" so this couch is like a bed for me! lol

I do LOVE the Demi Sofa from La-Z-Boy...

One thing I have learned about myself is, that I tend to buy only for "looks" and not comfort. Our current couch is so uncomfortable!!! It looks great in our living room, but we hate it. This is why I will probably spend the extra money for the lounge sofa.
